Everyone ought to love children because they inspire you, challenge your life and above all fill your life with love, joy and pure satisfaction. They are a source of happiness and they make you smile even in the darkest hour of your life. They are a bundle of joy and a source of inspiration.
There are part of the feelings we have had for 12 months Janet Mhango has been part of the Mzuzu Crisis Nursery. Indeed her life has inspired us as she grew into a beautiful toddler. It brings joy to see Janet looking happy and healthy as she reunites with her family after being in the care of the Nursery for twelve months. It's at the Nursery where she was brought up from her infancy to toddler in love and joy and above all in the fear of the Lord.
Though her grandmother seemed reluctant to have Janet at first because she was doubting herself if she would manage to care for her later she accepted due to her sweet nature and loving spirit. Everyone was happy to have the cute girl back home and they promised to take a good care of the girl with much love. Her grandmother's house is clean, strongly built with electricity and clean and safe water from the tap and close to the health clinic which ensured us that the girl would not have difficulties in adapting to the new environment.
Janet was born March 8, 2012 and came to the Nursery on June 23, 2012. She was an average baby and weighed 3.9kg on admission as she was born weighing 3.5kg and was 13.3kg when she was discharged. She had just lost her loved mother due to long illness. She was left in the care of her old grammy who was unable to care for her in her crisis period. The situation faced at the home made Janet being cared for at the Nursery for care, support and protection. She is the only child to her mother and the 5th grandchild to her grammy. She was discharged on June 27, 2013 while in good health. She was able to walk, say some words like dada, byee and etc, she would climb on objects and could do other good things. She is a wonderful child and liked to laugh, play with her friends, cuddle the small babies and enjoying playing with toys. She is a very healthy, strong child and attained all her milestones well.
She made us laugh, smile and playful but now she would be missed. As much as we loved her, she has to unite with her family and grow in her family's way. She is an intelligent girl and we hope her grammy will encourage her to utilise her wisdom and send her to school.
We thank God for the life of Janet, for her good health, sense of good humour and for all the blessings we have received through her. May He continue to raise her in optimal health as she adapts to life with her family.
