It's something to smile about seeing Levison Banda arriving home in a healthy and happy condition. Indeed the boy is home now reunited with his relatives. The relatives were very excited to welcome him home. The boy was in the care of the Mzuzu Crisis Nursery for 16 months. During this period, the boy was given the best required attention he deserves be it medical, nutritional and above all the love of God was shown to him as well.
He had some health problems he came with from home such as a big wound around his head. While at the Nursery, he had skin problems (rashes) and he was very slow to grow in his early days. But all these problems were well managed through good team work that exists at the centre. Everyone worked tirelessly in order to make the boy happy and healthy. In the end, we achieved it and the boy started responding well to all the attention were rendered to him. Prayer was not forgotten in alleviating his health problems.
The relatives and guardians were very happy and thanked God that the boy was now finally at home to be with them. In his early stage, the relatives seemed to have lost hope that the boy would survive but now their hopeless hearts were refilled with joy, praises and thanks to God. There was ululation, dancing and voices of happiness the day the boy arrived home. The chicken was slaughtered for the feast! The whole village stormed to the house just to witness the arrival of the boy and to celebrate together with the family members. They love the child and they were happy to welcome him home. We have that trust that the boy would be well taken care of by his relatives. The home is clean and everyone in the family is healthy and happy. We are assured that he is in the safe hands of his relatives who have love for him from both maternal and paternal side.
Levison was discharged on June 14, 2013 in a good and impressive health status. He weighed 10.6kg. He was walking and able to say Dada, sharp and byee. The boy was very happy and wonderful. He made the Nursery warm but now he will be missed . His fellow children also miss his company. He liked playing together with his friends and toys. He also likes exploring for new things and hope he will continue doing that.
He was born on January 19, 2012 and came to the Nursery on January 21, 2012. He lost his mother soon after he was born. He weighed 3.5kg the first time we got him and he was small. The relatives struggled to support him hence he ended up being cared for by the Nursery. He is the only child in his late loved mother who died very young.
Praise to God that the child is healthy, strong and happy and that he is with the family now.
