My name is Marlene Hagemann and I'm a volunteer at Mzuzu Crisis Nursery for one year. I'm working under a German organisation GIZ which gave me the great chance to visit Malawi as my first choice. I came in September 2012 and I'll finish my year in August 2013 before I'll start studying at the University back in Germany.
The Mzuzu Crisis Nursery in Malawi was from the beginning on my favorite project. I love children and especially babies. I enjoy playing with them and taking care of them. For me there is nothing more beautiful than a smiling and happy baby. Therefore the work at the Nursery is exactly the right job for me. I can spend my day with all the adorable babies who give me so much love back every day. But besides all the playing, I have learnt a lot about children and their speacial care and about their homes in the villages.
Not only the work with babies makes me feel so much comfortable at the Nursery. Also the staff members are so lovely to me which has made me to consider Crisis Nusrery as my second home in Malawi. I'm so glad and thankful for every remaining day at the Crisis Nursery.
